DISCOVER CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY!
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) was pioneered and developed by osteopathic physician John E. Upledger following extensive scientific studies from 1975 to 1983 at Michigan State University, where he served as a clinical researcher and Professor of Biomechanics.
CST is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system - comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.
Using a soft touch generally no greater than 5 grams, or about the weight of a nickel, practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous system.
By complementing the body's natural healing processes, CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease, and is effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction, including:
Migraine Headaches
Chronic Neck and Back Pain
Motor-Coordination Impairments
Colic
Autism
Central Nervous System Disorders
Orthopedic Problems
Traumatic Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries
Scoliosis
Infantile Disorders
Learning Disabilities
Chronic Fatigue
Emotional Difficulties
Stress and Tension-Related Problems
Fibromyalgia and other Connective-Tissue Disorders
Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome (TMJ)
Neurovascular or Immune Disorders
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
Post-Surgical Dysfunction
"In my experience of utilizing CranioSacral Therapy with my clients, I witness that the techniques reset the Parasympathetic Nervous System (PNS). This is the part of our nervous system that is responsible for the healing, restoration, and maintenance of a healthy body. When we do not take down time when we need it, or do not sleep well so our body can restore on a regular basis, our PNS shuts down and our systems get out of balance. As a result, we may start having symptoms that show up in many ways, such as the list above. Therefore, CST assists your body and mind to shift to a calmer state to more readily heal itself. That is why this treatment is so great at treating such a variety of symptoms.
I have helped newborn infants process and release birth trauma using CranioSacral Therapy. I have also helped many clients relieve headaches, tinnitis (ringing in the ears), and ear infections using CST. All of the recipients always feel a greater sense of well-being after a treatment.
This technique is one of my favorite to administer and I continue to use its benefits to help my own body stay more in balance and it often takes care of any headache I may experience."
